Need some Parts advice
im in the market for some aftermarket goodies...im not really sure on what to do next...im really wanting to get cams but im not sure on what to get...i was gonna get ctr or itr cams but i want something that will give me a bit more power...my friends says jun3's but i dont know if i want to rev really high to get all the power...i have i/h/e on my b16 right now...im thinking about raising compression a bit or goin with a 1.8 short block...any suggestions will be appreciated tia

if im not mistaken....Tech Guru's correct me if im wrong.....with Jun3's u get absolutely no idle...and to really use those to its full potential u need a whole lot more than i/h/e....

you are mistaken. They have stock idle characteristics. and of course you have to upgrade your valvetrain aswell and cam gears and some tuning. the more mods u have the better. go with the 1.8 short block, high comp pistons, full jun3 head, skunk2 intake manifold and tuned with either hondata or jun chip on an obd1 ecu.

if u get crazy high lift cams then u need to raise the compression. u need retainers, and at leasst outer valvesprings (iskerdian is good). if u want a built b20 block read my sig. im willing to work out something if ur interested pm me. anywho, good luck to you.

if u dont want to see my taillights, 1.8+ or BOOST
And CircuitSi, how much are u willing to spend on some cams? If u have lil money just go with ITR cams(00-01)

if you want torque, go with the 1.8 shortblock. If you want more hp than ctr cams without having to rev to the moon(although youll still need itr springs/retainers) id go with toda spec as, proven hp as high as 200whp, stock idle, and more hp that ctrs.

Re: Need some Parts advice (CiRcUiTsi)
My Opinion:
GSR Block
CTR Slugs
Thinner Headgasket for bump in CR
Either CTR cams (I believe you can retain stock valve springs, retainers, etc. with CTR's) or Skunk2 Stage 2's (which are almost identical to Jun 3's) with apporpriate valvetrain
ATS 4.9 Final Drive

if you were in the market for some cams i would suggest to you either Skunk stage 2's or Toda spec B's. the are both a very mild cam. of couse you need to upgrade your valvetrain and reatainers....but small price to pay for some nice gains...

If you want my opinion I would go with skunk2 stage 2's. If I could have it my way I would get everything skunk2 makes. I'm a skunk2 fan.

1.8 is all i want...i dont want anything crazy
Yet we want a the same setup
My brother in-law told me that higher cr will shorten the life of the motor a bit.
Is that true?
and a bump for you.
