Default need some info on wiring a b16 into a 96 ek coup

i'm building a ls\vtec for my 96 ex and need to know a fewthings before i go any further. i'm going to run a b18b block with a b16 head and my first question is i'm already converted to obd1 with a shunk2 p28, so should i run an obd1 or obd2 head to work with that ecm? the other question is will the b16 plug into my stock d-series harness or is there a conversion harness that i might need? any help i can get would be great.

Just modify the stock D-series harness. You need an OBD2 head since your engine harness is OBD2.

if you're using OBD2 wiring harness off a VTEC engine(D16y8), you won't have any problems. If using OBD2 non-VTEC wiring harness, you have to add VTEC and VTEC pressure plugs. Also, you don't necessarily need to use OBD2 head.. you can use ANY DOHC VTEC head and ANY B-series block(except for the old Prelude block) for the conversion.

just make sure you have matching wire harness and distributor.

Here to make it simple. Use the car harness. OBD2a EX Harness. Use OBD2a/b VTEC head. Everything will connect no problems. Have a OBD2a to OBD1 Jumper and Plug your P28 and your good to go.
