Need some info on f22b into EK
I've searched a good bit and am having a little bit of trouble finding out what all is involved in swapping an f22b into my 99 ek.
I originally was planning on building a turbo jdm vtec single slammer but extra displacement is really starting to win me over, especially both of the swaps being around the same price. From what I hear the block is pretty stout right out of the box. Basically wondering what mounts, ecu, wiring and shift linkage is involved. Anyone who has had experience with this swap, please feel free to post or even shoot me a link with some more info. |
Re: Need some info on f22b into EK (LEV)
Are you planning on using an f/h series tranny or "h2b"?

Re: Need some info on f22b into EK (HAMOTORSPORTSUSA)
I guess that all depends.
i know bisimoto makes an adaptor plate to use a d or b series tranny on the h or f series motors. I really dont want to cut anything on the car unless i completely have to. more than likely i'm going to swap the f22 in with the stock tranny and boost it. then, funds pending, ill do either a b or d series tranny. |
Re: Need some info on f22b into EK (LEV)
the easiest way is a full h/f mount kit through hasport or any other reputable mount manufacturer, and axles through hasport. shifter box you will have to mount "under" the center console, and drill holes in the firewall for the shifter cables. what model ek? it will make a difference as far as wiring.

99 DX hatchback.
Could I use a chipped p28 and a hondata? your sig kicks ass btw. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif |
Re: Need some info on f22b into EK (LEV)
haha. thanks. You will need to "graft" the f22 alternator harness portion into the dx harness, convert to two wire iacv, possibly extend intake air temp plug, run vtec wiring, and if you use a ecu with a knock board, you will need to wire the knock sensor. Also, if you use the stock intake manifold, you will need an ecu that can control the iab, or "half-ass" it and plug the vacuum to the iab.

Re: Need some info on f22b into EK (HAMOTORSPORTSUSA)
this all pertains to the jdm f22b dohc non vtec? i'm just really torn between building a jdm dohc f series or a usdm sohc f series.
I'm going to turbo whichever i get, but out of the box the smarter decision to me is the jdm dohc f22b. 160hp and 147 lb ft are beautiful numbers right out of the box, a gt35r and a few other goodies should take care of those long ass gears. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Modified by LEV at 9:26 AM 12/15/2007 |

Re: Need some info on f22b into EK (LEV)
I have Hasport mounts if you decide to go F/H complete. They allow for a direct bolt-in application, no cutting of the tranny side mount. This is how it sat in my 99 hatch with a H22/23

Instead of bumping a really old not very helpful thread, you might want to ask in the Hybrid section.
The hybrid section is specifically about putting non stock motors into your chassis i.e. an f series into an EK. |
