Need some info about a b16a1 swap into 92-95 hatch
I have a b16a1 that I want to swap into a 92-95 hatch. What are the issues around obd? I know the engine is obd 0, are the cars from that series obd 1? The other thing I am wondering about are the motor mounts, will this engine bolt right in or will I need special motor mounts?
Any other info about his swap that would be "useful" that you want to pass along is much appreciated. As always thanks for the help.

Yea, it will drop right in, and then just sit there since you won't be able to hook it up.
The easiest way would be to get a hydraulic tranny, a complete OBD I intake manifold with all sensors, and injectors, and a OBD I vtec B series distributor.
If not, you need a cable to hydaulic conversion kit, and a butt load of wiring. IMO, sell the 1st gen, and just spare yourself, and get the 2nd gen. Not to mention in emission controlled areas it's an illegal swap.

I didnt realize it was so extensive. I thought I could get away with motor mounts and perhaps a wiring conversion.
Guess not....

So is it nearly pointless to put a b16a1 into an eg or ej? Considering the amount of work it would require.
