Need some info
Well yesterday was the day I traded in my mustang and I bought a 1999 honda civic si! I was actually looking for an ls intgera because the si I was looking at got sold and then I came across a 99 civic si, blue, tsunami front lip, rear lip, skunk 2 coil overs, clear corner lights. eyebrows, factory wing, DAC intake, DC 4-2-1 headers, and DC sports 2.5 inch catback exhaust...I love this car, I still cant believe its mine. Any way this is my first import and I love it, anyone who says these cars are ONLY 4 cylinders is just ignorant....these things are friggin fast! Any way I heard that v-tec kicks in at 4400 rpms, it seems like it shoots toward redline fast when I hit 4400 but I dont hear a difference till like 5700-5800. Is there anything wrong? Is that normal?

Re: Need some info (firstimport)
VTEC on that car should be around 5500RPM. Throttle position will affect the switch, but it should be right at 5500RPM.
The Integra GS-R switches at 4500RPMs and then it's secondary butterfly kicks in at 5800RPMs.
Congrats to you for buying a Honda

Re: Need some info (B18C5-EH2)
Thanks for the info. I used to be a honda hater but a college friend of mine smacked some sense into me! I opened it up for the first time today and man is it fast...I love my honda and now I dont think I can drive anything but imports, VTEC is friggin addictive! Hey by the way does anyone know if a cop can pull you over for accelerating too fast? Just want to know I live in NJ so the last thing I need is a ticket...and I will try to post pics of my baby in a couple of days.

Re: Need some info (deepnite)

"Good law for idiots..."
WTF? I guess shifting at 3000rpms is the only acceptable way to drive then?
I am sure you have a totally different view on things being 54 years of age and me being 22 years of age, but calling anyone who drives with some pep "idiots" is a little harsh don't you think?
Whatever - guess I'm an idiot in your book becaue I am a spirited driver.
