just put a b16a2 in an ej8 coupe and basically runs like crap. . when i cold start it doesnt pick the revs up (around 450) im not throwing any codes, but then the CEL comes on and it idles really high (1800ish), To avoid this i can hold the revs up with throttle until its warm, then it settles to 450. it will drive, but after 10 k's the light will pop up and then it stalls when not in gear. it idles pretty lumpy, also get alot of black smoke when high reving.

done alot of searching and tried alot of stuff; bled system, new tb gasket, tps set up correctly, cleaned iac, cleaned and screwed in the fitv, pulled the loom and tested it, new coil, new icm, new sparkplugs, blasted a can of intake cleaner, checked all hoses for vacuum leak, cleaned pcv, adjusted idle screw....

I noticed that when its idling really low like it does i can pull the hose off the intake from the pcv and it will jump up to about 1500 and runs alot smoother aswell?? in fact i have to perform this every 5k or so, then slowly put the hose back on so it idles

So basically has any1 got any input or links about the general low revving and cel light thing, id appreciate sum advice cus this is expleting me off
