Need some help!!! What intake.......This is my 3rd one...
Hello everyone I need some opionions. I drive a 00 Civic Si the motor is some what built CTR slugs and Toda B's. Just recently I had a J's racing intake and I just sold it due to fittment problems (it rubbed a hole in my ac line-$250 dollar fix )With the J's intake I dynoed at 173 to the wheels. Before that I had a AEM CAI, sold that due to crappy throttle response. Now I need to figure out what intake I should buy, driving around with the stock airbox is killing me . Suggestions welcome please!

hmm... how come you didn't try to wrap something around the ac line for the intake to rub on..... say.. an old wifebeater? that's what i did, and when i still had an intake... it worked for a while, and nothing broke. just something to think about.

ARC makes one of the best intakes on the market. But do you really wanna spend $350 on an intake. I have an AEM Hybrid CAI on my H22 Civic and I am pleased with it. Not too much of a horsepower increase, but I think that many are misled by intake. If you're going for sound I can't help you there. But if you're going for performance, I'd say AEM, but either way, you're only gonna get like 4-5 whp if you're lucky with a CAI. If you want a true increase, get a new intake manifold, and a big bore throttle body. Now there's an increase you can feel.

Well I didn't realize that it rubbed a hole until after the fact. After I fixed the hole I then wrapped it with rubber. I Just didn't think the intake was worth the crappy fitment and the hassle.
