Need some help, cracked exhaust manifold
Wusp guys,
I just bougt a 96 Civic DX 4 dr, I discovered that the exhaust manifold if cracked near the primary o2 sensor. Now I have been looking around to get a new/used manifold so I can smog my car. However, the items they sell in ebay cannot be use in California due to it's emmision law.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?
Thanks

Re: Need some help, cracked exhaust manifold
I have a friend that took his to a exhaust shop and had them weld the crack, then they ran a tap throught the o2 sendor threads. it worked for him to pass smog and then he saved up money and bought a factory manifold about $500.

I can get the Illegal smog, does anyone know how I can install after market headers. Considering my car is a DX, so the cat is near the block . It's not like the regular Honda's and Acura's were the cat is under the car.

you can get an aftermarket cat for and ex and install a header from a known company and then have an exhaust shop weld in the ex cat. I don't suggest getting an illegal smog. Its not that hard to replace the manifold and gaskets. Depending on where you are in California I may be of some assistance.

In CA it is illegal for a junkyard to sell you a used catalytic converter, so you won't be able to get one there. Try here maybe:

Lol remove the cat are you nuts you will never pass the test then. get an exhaust shop to weld it up for the meanwhile, but too much heat on an already thin manifold will make it crack even more over time.
