Need to replace Brake rotors n pads, recommendations plz

Hi Techs,

I am a Honda Civic 97 LX owner. It is time to replace the front Brake rotors and pads. I have been searching over the net and the parts prices are very variant. I desperately need your help in selecting the right brand so that i will not repent later.
1. Brembo Rotors are selling for $49.99
2. Power Slot Brake Rotors for $138.36

What to buy ? why this huge difference of price.

Any experiences buying parts online ? Is it good

Also please recommend what brand of brake pads should i buy ?

Thanks yaa all for the help

Take care

I would go with the Bremo or stock if your not doing any "performance" type driving. Probably the large difference in price is that well, the Power slots are slotted right? That = machineing time which = money. But unless you NEED the extra cooling, stock rotors are fine as well as stock pads.
Unless you wanted to put some money into ceramic pads which wear slower, less dust, less noise.

Powerslots are just brembro blanks that are cross drilled or slotted or both. Work with in you budget. I personally have the slotted ones with KVR carbon fibre pads... i like em a lot

sloted rotors actually let the gases that will make your brakes fade, escape. They like to crack too if they were not casted drilled and drilled after casted. I would just get bremos blanks, and some perfomance brake pads.

mine are also cadnium plated if that makes any difference. I have no fade at all on my brakes. The pedal is as hard as the day i bought the car..

Thanks ya all, I got the job done and got the rotors and pads replaced and it took me 4 hrs for both front disks as i am a first timer. The impact driver suggestion was great and did its thing perfect. I really appreciated the impact driver technology. worth that 25 bucks for that tool. I learn't a lot and hopefully i don't have to change em again on this car for as long as i own it.
