Need recommendations on D-series internals
Rebuilding a Z6, want to got high comp all-motor. Other than Cometic head gasket, and all ARP studs, I'm not sure what to get. 13 second runs are my goal, NOS might be optional. Opinions needed please!

for all motor just save up for a b-series, u're going to be disappointed with a d-series. probably make only 150-180whp max.....

Re: Need recommendations on D-series internals (D21X)
Well, that'd be great, but...
1. I suck at saving
2. I already have the Z6
3. I love D-series.
160fwhp is a decent goal for me, I'm not looking to go all out here. I'm willing to invest some good money, but no B-series...

its gunna take alot of cash to get n/a 160whp out of a z6... some many other, cheaper options.

Re: Need recommendations on D-series internals (kabaroo)
Well the Z6 just put down 121fwhp, 105fwtq. Thats with shitty compression on cylinder #2, I wouldn't think it'd take much to get 40 more horse with all new internals...

I also suck at saving.
Im in the same boat as you are, but when i look at the big picture you could buy a B
with all the money you would spend on a cam, valve springs, rods, retainers, pistons, and so on.

Well one thing you're gonna need is a fully built head
Valves
Valve Springs
Retainers
Better Cam
Adjustable Cam Gear
Port and Polish
Valve Job
Port Matched IM
Bigger Throttle Body
That's way over a grand right there....
