Need quick help with t-Belts
I am in the prosess of installing a timing belt on my motor
I put it on properly lining up everything to TDC and torqued down the tensionor to spec
Heres the question:
Is the belt suppose to get loose at certain points while im turning the crank
When its at tdc the belt feels nice and tight but when im turning the crank it gets a little loose at some points
Is this normal?
If not how do i fix that?
Please help this is really pissing me off
TIA
-Brian

Quick Check.
Make sure crank pulley is TDC
Check Cam gear(s) to make sure it is centered and lined up correctly
Pull the Timing Belt Tensioner Tight and tighten the bolt down.
Start the engine before you put your timing belt cover back on the engine so you can make sure the belt looks like it is in working order. IF the belt is walking across the cam gears or slapping around like a hotdog in a hall way then you've got a problem. From what you have described it sounds like you are all set. Just watch that belt when you start it to do a last check on it.
