Need PRO answers! my 96 ek d16y8
I got a new ek 1996 d16y8 vtec obd2
Is there any headers/exhaust system for car that wont put my check engine light on? sense it is obd2.. one o2 sensor in stock header another in back of cat.. i know about changing over to obd1 but it is very costly and time consuming =\ anyone have any suggestions??
I'm looking to put a bigger throttle body on it any suggestions on what size? I want to go all motor build. Whats the best bolt on from a b series? h? idk. thats why I'm askin..? and anyone got one for sale =p
So far I have AEM fuel rail, bigger injectors, AEM intake and STOCK full exhaust system! producing not enough power D=
thanks all

also this might be debatable I've been putting fully synthetic(MobileOne high mileage) when I took to my buddies shop he said I should run fully synthetic in my civic... I'm wondering why? he said it doesn't properly lubricate everything, comments on that? suggestions? thanks again^^

...I personally would not run FS oil, but since you're doing it now, you're basically stuck because it's hard for your motor to accept conventional after that. Unless boosted, a larger TB, FR, and FI's are uneeded and is just wasted money really. Why throw extra fuel into cylinders that were stock perfect where they were? And adding a larger hole on a TB but keeping the Manifold the same really does nothing, just pulls money from your pocket. An exhaust system though could be a good idea.

ya bigger injectors is very very unneeded. the only reason you ever put bigger injectors is because with a turbo kit ur throwing so much air the stock injectors cant keep p and throw enough fuel to make the propper air fuel ratio. thats what there for. dont go d series N/A you wont make much power easily. the best thing to do is build the bottom end and boost it. you can peice together ur own turbo kit if u just do some research u can make some good decent power with a turbo kit and a good tune for the same price as swapping a gsr or something. go boost im telling you...nothing beats boost

i would however recommend converting to obd1, specially if you ever want to tune it and make any power from it. you should be able to get an obd1 p28 and ecu jumper for about $150 or less easy.

i've read that people have had pretty good luck with these extender dealies. basically it pulls the o2 far enough away from the exhaust stream so that it reads a lesser amount of hydrocarbons.

im getting mine off ebay =p 12$ aint to bad hope it works. a friend suggested welding another bolt on top of another on the cat but this seems a bit easier and no modification is required.
im still looking for headers for my y8 obd2 they dont make em or what? i really dont wanna go turbo because the cops crush cars where im from D;

If you can't find a header with an O2 sensor bung then you can just have one added. IIRC most headers have the O2 bung near the bottom, which means you have to extend the wires on your O2 sensor.

you do not need the obd1 dizzy since obd2 dizzy's are identical internally.

For the ECU swap, all you need is the jumper and a p28 ECU. A jumper new is ~$75 and you can buy a new p28 with your own specific rev limits, removed speed limiter and vtec engagement for like ~$250. - That's a real good deal.

Right, it's just the wiring plug that's different.
