Need Picture of Unchipped & Chipped p28 ECU ASAP
Hey guys, I need a comparison picture of a chipped and unchipped p28 ECU. I'm going to head out in a few minutes to check one out and would like a comparison picture before I go to ensure that what I'm getting from the guy is a virgin ECU. The guy also said that the ECU was converted from A/T to M/T so if there's anything else I should look for... please let me know... thanks!

Sure does.
Mind if I ask why it must be virgin? I'd love to get a chipped on at virgin prices,

would you buy an ECU without knowing the quality of the work used in chipping it? i wouldn't.

****, plug it in and test it. You can do most of the sight checks to see if any traces are pulled or anything, and if the guy is local you can always kick his ***.

quality of the work like streetghost said, and plus I'm planning to turbo the car.. and the person I'm getting the turbo from is my brother, whose p28 is alreadyd chipped for his turbo setup... therefore, when it comes to swapping it over, i'll just give him the unchipped p28 for his car when it's back to stock...
I now have another question... I noted that there's three black things on an AUTO and only one black thing on the 5-speed like the picture showed... if someone mods an auto-5speed, what differences would I be able to see on the ecu board? could there be three black things and still be fitted to work on a 5speed?

Yeah, the 3 black things (transistors 5151 high side switches to be exact) can be left on there, they're just redundant I think. You can also look at the resistors under the eprom space, lemme get a picture.
EDIT: Auto Resistors
