Default need to pass e-check

ok i failed e-check the other day. so today i got a new muffler put on to replace my burnt out glass pack. and i still failed. i am failing the carbon monoxide part of it. i need to get my CO level down below 1.33. it was at 2.54, then i put the new muffler on and now its at 1.71. so i am close but not quite there. here is my setup, dohc zc engine, intake, then i have chakira headers, hiflow cat, custom 2 1/4" piping in to a cherry bomb turbo muffer(new)(sounds awsome i might add) do u guys have any suggestions on what i could do to bring down my carbon monoxide level???? the car is running good but sometimes when i am crusing and being light on the gas the car kinda sputters, (like its missing) but it didn't do it during e-check
help!
