im guessing the plug on the right is the same for the left? i dunno... i need some advice..part number.. something...
its an ls block,99 i believe..

I have a '99 LS here and the one to the right is round while the one to the left is hexigonal or something.

I can't find it in the EPC though.

Are you talking about the breather holes? You could get another plug or get the fitting from the dealer to have an aftermarket catch can.

Oh, and I'd take a photo of the plug the one here has... but it's on a car and so I dont' think I could.

from like an old B20 prelude or something right? or is he talking about one of the FREEZE plugs?

the motor didnt come witha breather chamber... atleast i didnt get one when i picked it up.. and someone told me that he has like a fan switch or temp sensor in the large hole to the left of the oil filter... it has a reducer piece to make it fit.. i dunno.. i couldnt find it on any honda parts page or the epc...

This is prelude, however, its the same size



Number 2 are breather vents (you could use those and just cap them) - No. 11107-PK2-003


Number 25 seems to be the proper plug - No. 90001-PM3-003
(I say seems, because the washer for it and the vent are the same, so it has to be the same size...)

That was the closest I could find on my initial search the other night when I first saw this thread.

I'm not sure that's right though. I think that's a number for a round plug, not the hexogonal plug that he's looking for.

I even looked through my Civic repair manual PDF (for the B16A2) and though I could see it in images, there was never any information given on it.

Here's the page I was looking at for the '99 LS.

That vent/breather # I posted is the one that endyn uses (and modifies) for their breather kit.
But like I said, assuming that the plug is the same size as the vent, it should work.

yea i think the b20 prelude one is what he is looking for NOFX the plug in the front of the block looks diffrent than the one he needs

The plug he lists up for the B20 as seeming to be the right plug (he lists it as number 25 in his image) is the same exact part number as the part I listed up.

They're the same part.

In fact, here is a photo of the part we were both talking about. Notice it's different. I didn't take the OP's question as being, "What can I plug this with?" as much as "What goes here?"

This is the bolt on the front (P/N: 90001-PM3-003).

hey for all you saying the plug on the exhaust side of the block.. its not the same thread pitch as the one on the intake side.. i ordered that one thinking its the one i needed, or it would match and it didnt.. doesnt thread in but its the correct diameter..

So this part number 90001-PM3-003 refers to the plug (coolant drain) on the exhaust side.. which isnt the correct one i need sadly..
i wish i could find the part number for the hex plug on the right side of the oil filter but i cant..

okay so i used the epc and did a search for all 28mm bolts..


i clicked on the 11106-pr4-013 and it said it was only used in the RSX...
judging from the picture it looks like it has a hex on it.. i dunno.. maybe ill waste another $5 and see if it fits..

It may be a sensor that is used for that hole. Check the pics with the green plug sensor in this link out:

It's not a sensor.

This is the SAME PART on a stock 1999 LS (same exact motor he has) in a running car.

the picture that your posted NOFX, doesnt have a sensor.. just a plug
but the picture tech8 posted a link to shows a sensor there.. thats how my friends b18a looks.. like a temp sensor or something..
either way tho, i cant find a part number for either through the honda epc or on any of the part web pages...

i dunno.. never had a problem like this.. heh it sucks.

just go get a custom plug of go to autozone and ask to see their freeze plug selection they might have it

But you don't have a B18A. I can't list all the differences between the B18A and B18B, but apparently that's one of them.

Maybe I'll stop by Honda tomorrow and ask a friend of mine.

i know i dont have a b18a.. but a plug w/ a sensor will fill the hole i have on my block.. whether i need that sensor or not.. i cant find a part number for the plug, or the plug/reducer/sensor ..
