Default Need P28 ECU help

Hey guys. Fried this component in my ecu and need to know what it is so I can order up another and get it fixed.







Any help guys would be appreciated.

take it to a computer store . they would definitly know.

It's impossible to tell by looking at it in the pictures.. no part number is visible. All we know is that it's a small transistor or IC inside a 3-pin package. The only way you'd be able to find a replacement is to open up a working ECU and read the part number off of the component.

Then the uestion comes - did it cook itself? or did something cook it?

the transistor is a D1780, looks like a honda specific piece. Its a fairly common tranistor that fails on the OBDI ecus. even when replaced it seems to get blown to pieces more times then non. take a look at the ecu and look for any shorts on the ecu first before replecement.
