i have a 92 eg sedan, ive been looking around for short air intakes.

i really like the Password JDM aka Whale Dick. lol!

but seriously, can i get some feed back from people who have this intake?

i have an automatic....

i know im not going to get a gain in performance but who says i cant help my engine breathe a little better?

Should i buy it? Come on Honda Tech, whats your opinion?

if you want to just get some better airflow, drop in a K&N filter. it's not nearly as expensive at the PWJDM intake. you definitely get better flow over the stock filters.

For the best bang for buck keep your stock intake and remove the resonator behind the right bumper , then just leave the J pipe in and/or cut the pipe in half so it sucks in colder air.

Do this with a drop in K/N filter

You get the best of both worlds, cold air from behind the right bumper plus the filter remains inside the bay if your scared of hydrolock and it retains the stock look.

I got a Bomz intake on ebay new for like 27 shipped or something...i've had it for about a year and it's worked perfectly.

Alot of cheaper options...but it's your car...if you like the way it looks...and you've got some money laying around then get it.

i don't know why no-one has thought off this but here goes.

why not get a whales **** intake and then make a carbon surround for the filter so it is shut off in its own box while keeping the massive chamber then i think this would be a great intake

i think its a waste of money, but if you gotta have the in style fanboi items, then go for it. i cant think of anything it does that an ebay special intake cant.

Nice intakes, but loud as heck. I had a plastic replica of that passwordjdm intake on my auto sol and it just made a ridiculous amount of noise that far exceeded any benefit from having it. On a trip back from Vegas, I had to crank the stereo just to hear music at open throttle.

I finally took it off, put the stock airbox back on, and got a drop-in K&N filter. I'm much happier.

Yep, have a intake as well. If i hadnt spent so much on that damn filter i would return to stock. I lost quite of bit top end, but got some low end. I can now do burn outs lol

yeah just remove the bumper, it's allot easier than you think , on my sol I didn't need to mess with the wheel wells

My set up now is a $20 one piece pipe cold air intake from EBAY (trash the filter it comes with) and get a AEM dryflow, K/N etc.


I used a variety of short rams and never found them to be that much of a benefit (except at top end wide open 115mph) , when I first put on my CAI it was a revelation , yes cold air does produce more horsepower

no matter how big the whale pee pee is or how much they say 'tuned short ram' it's still hot engine bay air you're sucking in

a cheap EBAY cold air pipe will give across the board gains

I have the pw:jdm intake on my b16, it came on the car when I bought it tho, I would have never got it my self. It definitely does make a ton of noise! But as for power, I never had the stock one so I can't really tell. I imagine it only helps a bit with bottom end, and just gets to warm afterwards.

What I usually do with most of my cars is modify the stock intake like removing the resonator and making a cold air feed, then drop in a k&n filter. Definitely the best you can get for the money.

Otherwise a real cold air intake is best, if you live in a more dry area.

so basically i removed the airbox completely and tubing. now my air filter box sucks in the air, i have to admit, there is a very nice roar, it doesnt sound ricey at all. thanks guys, i just saved $200.

i ask because you said you removed the airbox. i'm trying to picture how you're going about it. and the k&n will not be detrimental to your car's smog test. don't even trip about it.
