need opinions buying a motor
this is the description of the motor i might buy this weekend
"gsr head on b16 block, decked and milled, ctr piston, quafie lsd installed in b16 tranny, headers, exedy 6 puck clutch, port and polich head, and intake manifold with removed secondary runners"
he said he ran 13.8 in a full interior street tire hatch all motor
i'm curious how good the gsr head on a b16 is???is it a good setup????? i thought the mini me was the other way around (gsr block b16 head) isnt this getting the worst of both????????
anyways let me know if you guys think this would be a good buy, the price is reasonable

Re: need opinions buying a motor (bboylito)
I thought the B16 head flowed better than the GSR head, slightly? I know there is debate over this also. And I do remember that the GSR head yields different compression than the B16 head.

his compression is gonna be through the roof at least 13:1 if not higher....
don't remember what it is....but it is high....

sounds like an awesome motor depending on the price.
however, i've always preferred a B16 head on a B18 or B20 block.
but the choice is yours

if you know how, or know someone, they can modify your factory harness to work.
or you could buy one.
and yes you will need an ECU.
Isn't your car hydro already?

Re: need opinions buying a motor (JDMallTHEway)
I am going to do the same setup but with hydro tranny. I have a 94 ex with a d16z6 and swapping to 98 gsr head on a b16a block (stock) with a 94 gsr IM so I can stay OBD1. the compression would be 10.8:1.
P.S. block with all parts was $125 and head was $540 from Draginteg. so far I have saved alot of money.
