Need Opinion on a SWAP!!
Hello Honda Tech members, i decided to join you guys today for the first time, and im looking to learn alot more.! The reason for my post is that i want some suggestions and opinions on what type of swap i should do. Im a female who is the honda game and just looking for opinions.
I have a 94 civic coupe, ive had it for about 4 years now , and recently ive made alot of changes to the car, my car has a shaved bay & wire tuck. I currently have a JDM SOHC SWAP, bought from JDM Depo about 2 years ago. The motor is healthy & its been so good to me, ive always been on top of the maintenence on the car. I am ready to upgrade to a Bseries, i am not too familiar with what motor would be best , also i am not looking to over spend on a motor. I just want some feed back on what motor is reliable, & torky. Please no opinions on K series as i am not interested.. THANKS GUYS/GIRLS

Don't know what being a female has to do with anything. Nor why it was mentioned.
But long story short. Get the biggest displacement engine with the most horsepower that you can afford to have installed. If you have no clue, try window shopping at HMotors Online. If you have questions on the amount of difficulty please check the FAQs regarding engine swaps.

How is that no help? Did you go to Hmotors and check the inventory? Because it really is that simple. Did you try checking the FAQs?
And $2k isn't going to get you much.

Re: Need Opinion on a SWAP!!
Thanks & i did check the inventory, all im asking is for suggestions , i do not need members to come off and say that it was not necessary for me to put my gender out there,, the reason for that is that im not too familiar with car talk therefore i dont want members talking in car codes. that was all but i appreciate your comment & 2 grand will get me something.

But it wasn't necessary. I understand not wanting to be spoken to in jargon but being female has nothing to do with that.
As for $2k, disregard any B16 right off the bat. Waste of money.
When I said get the biggest engine you can afford that is it in a nutshell. I don't know what else to tell you. But I think you're looking for specifics so look for an LS/VTEC swap. But unless these are done absolutely correctly you will have issues.
Again, this is information readily found in the FAQs (Section 6c.) and many build threads as this is a question that gets asked quite frequently here on Honda-tech.

Re: Need Opinion on a SWAP!!
gender is irrelevant. $2k plus shipping will get u an ls changeover based off of hmo's website. but, you would have to pay someone to install it. you wont have the mystical vtec though

Re: Need Opinion on a SWAP!!
If it were me
B20Z
LS or GSR transmission
Need axles, mounts, ecu, other odds and ends (hoses, fluids)
Probably wanna do a clutch kit and timing belt kit as well as some tuneup items
$2k can be done if you do some extreme couponing and shop cheap like a mad man

Re: Need Opinion on a SWAP!!
any engine could be made to rev high...
do not get a b16 anything. its a 1.6 at the end of the day.
b18c(gsr)
b18a/b(ls)
b20
then worry about vtec if you feel you still need it. if you wanna get this all professionally put in h22s are an option too but they stand a pretty good chance of going over budget.

Get used to grumble if you're gonna stay on here, Chiikiita. I guess it's bothersome to some to have that little added detail in there. You will have to type with no personal tone or diction to not get "corrected" on here. But as for the swap, it depends what you're looking for. VTEC, no VTEC? Boost, no boost? Etc.

Overhyped is not the same as played out. We're not talking about planting a flag like Columbus. We're talking about upgrading engines. Nothing in the Honda world can be considered new so what's your point?

You gotta say everything about what i say. whats your deal ?
I mention a motor not even to you, u attack.
If she wants an overhyped motor she will get it .
