need a new exhuast and need help
I need to get a new exhaust system for my 96 civic coupe i don't really want to spend more than $500 on the system?
I've looked at:
spoon n1 axle back
a'pexi world sport
es oval
can anyone give me some pointers and help.
It's intended use would be mostly daily driver, I don't want it to be too deep that it sounds like a bee, or so loud i can't hear my radio.
I'd like it to give good mid-range power.
Thanks again I did a search and not to much came up...

type-one - $$$$$$
Spoon - I thought they were loud.
I haven't heard the ES Oval, but that may be your best bang for the buck if you know of a shop that can do the piping.
If you want an axle-back complete system, the Apex'i WS is one of the quieter ones.

the type one I can get for 450 cad (i imagine the cad = canadian) which converts to about $290
spoon = no clue as to the loudness
es Oval was the one I was leanintowards but I don't know of many shops to do the back piping
apexi I heard some good things about as well but don't really know.
the world sport cat back system for 399 ? sounds decent to me but never priced it before?

I have a female friend who has an Acura 1.6EL, she just got a TypeOne SS muffler for her car since her 5Zigen muffler starts to makes weird sound. She got stock header and 5Zigen B-pipe. With the silencer on the exhaust note is really deep and quiet. After u take the silcencer off it gets louder and pitch gets lil higher. It's understand-able since her car is 4A/T. It always stays in the noisy rpm range.

Did the Type One axle back just bolt right up to the 5zigen b-pipe?

I have an apex N1 and wanted to get the type one catback. If the axle back will bolt to my apex b-pipe i'll just get the axle back. Damn i wish i knew for sure.

He said he doesn/t want to spend over $500 for an exhaust and a Tanabe RM would cost that much if not more. I wouldn't suggest just getting an axle-back because your b-pipe would still be the size of a pea shooter. I'd save up for the tanabe though.

Re: need a new exhuast and need help (Guardson3r3)
Does anyone have the JHP.com ES Universal N1 exhaust on their stock VX and if so, did you see any power gains?
I would really want to get one for their size because it leaves a lot of clearance for when work is being done on the rear suspension. I am getting tired of having to pull my stock muffler away everytime I want to get to the right side of the rear suspension.
This exhaust will be perfect for clearance and it is fairly cheap at $165 but I would not want to purchase anything that will not give me any horsepower gains.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well I'm pretty sold on the apex'i world sport cat back. for the price I think it will do me well especially since it has good mid-range power. i was looking at the tanabe but it's close to $600 and I just can't seem to justify it I mean what does it dyno at? sound isn't worth $200 more with same performance output?
