Re: need new brake rotor screws!!!!! (dejay)
i don't have any screws in mine, the wholes on my 11" rotors didn't line up. once you have your wheel on there is no movement anyway. its fine without them.

They arent neccessary.
Just take an extra one to the hardware store and match it up if you are really worried.

I agree I here the only purpose for them is hold up the rotor so you can put the tires on. go to Lowes they carry metric bolts and nuts.

What he said, except I paid $0.46 each. I think it's worth it for the extra security on the brakes.

there is no reason to have those on. Do you really think those dinky screws are going to be the link between your brakes falling off??? No.
All they do is hold the rotor to the hub while you take off and put on your wheel. Once you tighten your lug nuts, that is what applies the pressuer to the hub, not the screws.
Any VW guy will know what I'm talking about when I say it's only to put the wheels on, because VW's have the screws also, but they have threaded hubs- not studs...so it's hard to match up the lug bolts to the hub...
not needed

Re: need new brake rotor screws!!!!! (Emerika)
Those little screws keep the brake rotor flush when you take the wheels off and keep it from moving around. If it moves around then it would be very easy to have it tweaked just a bit when you remove a wheel and put it back on. This little "tweak" can lead to a warped rotor or uneven pad wear...
Just get the screws...

The only reason those screws are there is to keep the rotor from falling on your toe when changing pads, but you SHOULD be removing the rotors anyway to turn them. The lugs hold them in place. You'll be fine without them, but if it makes you feel any better...

You don't really need them, I know because my old 89 Camry didn't even have screws on the brake rotors. But I like to keep them in place on my Teg cuz I'm a perfectionist like that.

Re: need new brake rotor screws!!!!! (PatrickGSR94)
You know, it's funny how all of the camaros didn't come with them and their rotors do the same thing when the wheel is taken off. The rotors fall out slightly on the studs since there is no force holding them on. Have you ever heard of thousands of Camaros having catastrophic brake failures and their rotors flying off? NO...So stop being paranoid and just save the money for 5 or 6 packages of ramen noodles while you save up for the next modification that you're gonna freak out over. Maybe your next thread will be "HELP...I installed a hyper turn signal blinker and don't have any blinker fluid to replace mine with!".
DAMN I'm just not in a good mood today!!!

And that's also a convenience I like.
