Need mechanic in chicago area
Hello,
I've never had any major work done in the chicago area (naperville) and I'm looking for someone to put my engine in for a good price. I know when I lived in Kentucky, engine swaps were about 500 bucks for a d15b, and that was not even a year ago. Does anyone know shops or people in the naperville area that would do this swap for a decent price? I'm trying to swap in a jdm d15b vtec.
Thanx

Yes, but our garage is really small and I've never done anything like this before. Plus, I have no tools. I don't think I'd remember all the wiring. On top of that, the vtec needs to be hooked up since I didn't have it before. Anyone know someone in this area, or is anyone willing to do this swap?

hey, I know my buddy and I may be willing to do it.. let me talk to him, cuz he has the better garage. We could deffinatly do it for less than 500 and I know how to wire up vtec, what ecu are you going to be running, you may also need an o2 sensor as well. PM me and let me know.

Just do it yourself! It's worth it. You can rent most of the tools, or buy some tools too. It's not that hard, and if you need any help there are a lot of people on this board willing to help out. Into what chassis are you trying to swap into?

Thanx everyone. I went with b18c1civic. He sounds like a reliable guy, not that everyone else isn't. He's doing it for a great price too. But it's good to know how many people there are around here that work on Hondas. I'll keep everyone in mind in case I need anything else done to the car.

You really can't use the words "good" and "cheap" in the same sentence when refering to paint jobs..

I'm not talking about 300 cheap, i'm talking about a good job and a good price, cheap as in comparable to others who do it for a lot more with same results.
For example, one of my friends got a really nice paint job that would usually cost 1500 for 500 because this guy wanted to promote his shop and show everyone how good he is.
