Icon6 Need a Little Know How (B16a)

Well i'm picking a b16a up in a couple days,
went over and checked it out tonight,
here's the deal

B16a SiR II
6 Puck, Exedy Clutch, not sure on the stage.
-No Transmission
Comes with a old harness, ecu, axles,
needs shift linkage, and probably new motor mounts.\

The engine is supposed to run great, was just tuned up before the car got stolen, now its being parted.
Give me an idea on what you would pay for it .
and maybe if anyone gets it i will tell you guys.

Questions:
I have a 1994 Honda Civic Si Coupe,
Do i need to modify my harness, the only thing that i saw was the o2 sensor.
hmm. if i think of more ill ask.
post away.
im pretty sure im getting a wicked deal !\

and thought i would ***** my car out

I know of a place in Ottawa (Canada) that will sell me a long block for $900 out the door from Japan. That's no clutch/ecu/wiring though. That's $900 Canadian, but as I'm lead to believe our dollar is doing increasingly well, so it's about $900 USD as well.

However, my brother bought a JDM B20A for his Prelude and there was no bullshit with these guys. 100% straight up, legit and willing to work with you if you pay cash & pick the motor up.

Well how much does he want for it? And you shouldnt really have any issues with wiring if you are getting the whole harness. Why dont you do a compression test on the motor? All you have to do is put it in the spark plug hole and turn the motor.

They charge $ 900 for obd0 b16 , and $ 1200 for obd1 and $ 1400 for obd2.

the obd0s aren't that desirable. But JP does come though with good parts and prices once in a while.

to the poster.

a full swap is around $ 1800-$2200 in parts for the b16 .

see what is missing, and how much its worth . And how much you need to get the full swap done.

. Picking up a untested motor ( and he doesnt give you a 1 day start up warranty ) then I would say $ 500-800 max just motor.

Well i don't wanna wire the entire harnes through,
its a little cut up,
i was wondering if my stock harness will fit ?
but if i need to wire certain things i have them.

I guess 200for everything is a good deal hey ?
even if it doesn't run, i can part the head and stuff.

hmm honestly id just go track down a full swap.

id pay anywhere for 5-8 after doing a few tests to make sure its good.
even after you buy it you still have to track down a tranny and it wont have an LSD likely, the shift linkage mounts and anything else that might come up.

for 200? hell yea you can sell that head for 500 if its in good condition. but at 200...little sketch.

Lol...You knew I was talking about JP...that's funny...But when I emailed them I specifically told them what engine I wanted. I was told $900 if I pick it up and paid cash. Maybe they were going to try and pass off the first gen B16A off on me? I specifically said the second gen B16A and buddy there was pretty legit the first time around...Enough that I would deal with him again.

To the OP...$200? **** man...you can't even buy a bike for that these days...You can hardly buy shoes for that price...

Why haven't you bought it yet?

haha picking it up tonight man!
i'm pretty stoked .
i didn't really check compression or anything since alot of the stuff was already off when i got there,
there isn't a tranny, but thats fine i can try and get a ls tranny for cheap.
anything i should do? im gunna bring it home, try to pull the oil pan, check for ****, just give it a good once over, possibbly drop it into my car,
BUTTTT:
I haven't gotten a straight answer whether my wiring harness is going to work right,
i know the o2 sensor and the d16z6 doesn't have a knock sensor, so that will throw a code, but i can turn it off. will everything else match up right ?
SOMEONE GIVE ME AN ANSWER hAHAHA
thanks guys

That's super cheap, I would definitely get it regardless of testing.

Your stock harness will work perfectly fine. I used the stock harness in my Del Sol that came with a 1.5 that was in it and just wired Vtec in on it, other than that everything else plugged perfect. Well, you may have to do a few things if it is for an OBD2 car.. forgot about that... mine was for an OBD2 motor and I had to change the distributor and alternator and wire in an OBD2 IAT sensor on the intake.

Well you cant turn off the CEL for the knock sensor. And your wire harness will not work with the OBD2 ECU, but it will work with the motor. Your only issue will be the distributor. Which you can swap out to an OBD1 dizzy or get/build a conversion harness from OBD2 to OBD1. So you will have to chip your z6 ecu and have it flashed with a b16 map.
