"Cable" and "Hydraulic" don't apply to automatic transmissions since they don't have a clutch. You need a 96-00 auto tranny if you have a 96-00 chassis. The gearing for all of them is the same I believe except for the CVT from the Civic HX; which you do not want unless you have a Civic HX.

i need info for a D16 B VTEC engine....and best tranny to combined this...tell me about especification for this engine and the best tranny for. I have a 98 civic hb automatic tranny with this engine. please indicated the tranny for best combinated is hidraulic or cable or best automatic transmition ....thanks a lot </TD></TR></TABLE>
Your post is very confusing. If you are swapping in a 5 speed then a hydraulic transmission is the way to go. If keeping with the automatic then you will need one from a '96 - '00 civic. As baller status stated don't get an HX CVT or the CVT/Multimatic transmission that often comes mated to the D15B 3 stage vtec engine.

um.. u know u cant put an automatic engine on an auto car without a conversion right ?
Other than that, best single cam 5 speed tranny is one from an EX civic single cam. Best tranny u could find for d-series, a dx tranny is very good too but ex is top of the line man.

why would you use an auto tranny for a turbo project, it's gonna be a pain in the *** and you'll be limited compared to a 5-speed.

Ok, i'm still confused as hell. To the OP, what engine/transmission do you have now? and what exactly are you trying to do? I think you are confusing the word exits with the word exists. I think you are saying you are turboing a D15B and you want to know the best automatic transmission to use and you think that an automatic will be ok for now? I really need to know what car this is in (year, model and trim level) But usually it makes far more sense to use a manual tranny, automatics usually don't last long when you use a turbo.

As someone else already said the ex tranny auto or 5 spd is your best option. Short gears are going to help you not hurt you.

You plan to turbo the engine, but want an automatic? I haven't heard of any shift improver kits, or any way to adjust the shift points for our Civics, so unless one of those exists, you may as well put in a manual trans.
The best manual trans would be from 96-00 since it has steel shift forks.

^ and the EX model has the shortest gears i think, which is what EVERYONE's been telling the OP.
sooo
1. Auto-manual swap
2. use EX tranny
3. boost
4. post up numbers and pics on HT

Do you actually expect to really learn something here with your total lack of knowledge of the english language?

If you are going to turbo put in a manual. you need to run an ODB1 ECU so you can tune. OBD1 ECU in an OBD2 car will not be able to control the automatic tranny. You'll need to use a transmission from a '92 - '95 civic and maybe do some rewiring in order to get it to shift right. '95 civic trannys suck IMO. the '92 - '94 automatic transmission seems to be better. Automatic transmission don't last long anyway with a turbo, its a much better idea to go with a manual.

It was an option. Some had it, some didn't.
