Need info on 92-95 Civic CX
I've been looking to buy a stock 92-95 Civic CX here in Vancouver, Canada.
I got a couple of questions that I couldn’t find answers for on the forum, so hope someone can help.
I looked at a few all ready, and most of them have the D15B7 engine swap with no other modifications.
1 If the D15B8 has been replaced with the D15B7, does this mean the original transmission is kind of a mismatch? with the newer D15B7, because I thought the original tran's, the gearing was taller for fuel economy?
Also with this question, there is no way of telling which tran's is in the car without pulling the tran's apart, right or wrong?
2 Does the original computer need to be replaced with this engine swap, adjusted or does not matter?
( I’m a just concerned if I can't find one with the original 8 valve D15B8 engine, and I have to buy one with the swap. I don't want to end up with a bunch of problems with the car.)
3 Canadian-made models 92s CX's and some 93s CX's, have the under-dash VTEC wiring all ready installed on the car, I've read on the forum.
Is there a quick way of doing a visual inspection, just to confirm it is there, without ripping things apart?
Thanks

1. Yes, it's sort of a mismatch with the trannies. I would get at least the B7 tranny, otherwise you'll be shifting into 3rd at 110 kmh.
2. You need a P06 ECU.
3. 92 Civics, all of them, were prewired for VTEC. A 93 CX would not be.
