Need a 'how to' for a/c belt replacement
Can anyone show me how to replace an a/c belt for my 1997 Honda Civic? It seems as if there is some sort of mount that gets in the way, I was wondering how you get around this. Thanks in advance. This is for a d16y5

take out the ac mount that's bolt on to your frame.. two size 14 mm bolts, then squeeze the blet threw,, then vice versa

Yep, you have to remove that mount. I recently installed AEM Tru-power pulleys and haven't installed the new AC belt because it's going to be a pain in the ***. Have you gotten the tensioning pulley loose? I have tried everything and the damn thing won't budge.

Re: (Cold Fyre)
ah ok.. exactly what i needed to know.
also, if i were to replace the compressor (the last owner complained of the compressor making a noise, so he removed the belt and disabled a/c), is it simply a plug n play process? i've never dealt with a/c before, i'm assuming i'd just need to remove the lines, take off compressor, put new compressor, attach lines, then recharge a/c?

I'm having the same problem. I can't get the ac tensioner to loosen up. How do you do it??
