need help with Z6 tranny
Car: 1996 CX Hatch
motor: D16Y7
This weekend I swapped in a tranny from a Z6, the guy I bought it off didn't know its condition because he had bought a complete Z6 swap for an EF and didn't need the tranny. The buyer had assured him it was fine though.
Anyhow, did the swap, kept the old clutch, new throw out bearing.
Initially I had no reverse, first gear went in fine, second goes in from a dead stop only and requires force to get in there, third grinds slightly, fourth will grind at higher rpms....and 5th is perfect (at least). After driving the car home, I got reverse. Reverse works fine now.
Next day, I changed out my shift linkgage (mine seemed to be binding) and dumped the fluid (motul), put in some ordinary 10-30 just to make sure it isn't the fluid.....same problem.
All motor mounts are in decent shape.
Any ideas guys?

Re: need help with Z6 tranny (jL iLLuZiOnz 9)
bah, don't really care about being scammed....the price was really good, and the kid was honest in not knowing the condition of the transmission.....I just hate pulling trannies.
