Need help You HT guys
OK i lookin to Turbo my 99Civic-Si. Its got a b18c1 bottom end with a b16 head. I dont know if i should keep the b16 head or change it. People tell me so many Diff things like keepin it will keep the compeshion down and other people tell me its makes it higher. Also what cams should i get. im lookin to try to get in to the high 12's and low 13's

Re: Need help You HT guys (CivicGSRsi)
the b16 head will yield about .3 less comp. than the gsr head...
it is fine for what your doing
ctr/itr cams are proven turbo cams...but you can always look for a turbo oriented grind depending on what your plans are for the motor

You can leave the B16 head on it - the compression will be lower, that's better for boosting.
Whoever told you to raise the compression for boost is a ******* moron. YES high compression engines are indeed VERY MUCH-SO tunable though low compression engines yield more power and take less time to tune. Generally with FI lower comp = better.
Though I've seen some ITR-T's wreck some ****, but that's a diff story.
As far as a cam. That depends, you can go OEM higher like a CTR or ITR which as "Suck my DX" has said - are good cams for boosting. Though I'd go with a zex or crower cam.

Depends how much you boost, if you're boosting a lot and not on stock internals there might not even be a need to upgrade cams.
Though yes, a GSR cam is more aggressive.

Re: Need help You HT guys (Syndacate)
Well when i turbo it i think i am goin to keep stock internals the egain only has like 10k miles on it and i dont want to run to much boost maybe like 12-14psi.. also i am goin to turbo it over the summer is it ok to have gsr cams with no turbo and stock internals.. and is a skunk2 intake manifold good?

he never said anything like that...he was just saying he was getting misinformation that the b16 head yields a higher compression than the gsr head.
