Default Need Help w/ Swap!!!!

I have a Canadian 96 Civic DX...the car has an extra ECU plug, I don't know what the hell the plug is for...I am planning to put a 97 LS motor in it. what do I need for a 97 integra LS motor to be put in...anyone have this problem??? Does the swap work the same like an American spec Civic...help please....

you say it has an extra ECU plug...OBD I cars have 3 plugs only and OBD II cars(96 and up) have 4 plugs. So your car is a 96, that would mean you have 4 plugs and maybe the ecu you have is for a OBD I car.

now if the car has 5 plugs and the ECu has 4 connectors then i have no idea what going on...oh and if im wrong please corrct me

I took out my ecu and it has 4 plugs...I put my friend's ecu (american spec) and can only plugged in 3, one does not fit. the one that does not fit has not pins, so i guess it does not matter...but the car is running fine, not check light so its cool...do you guys know what the plug (the plug next to the big one) that does not fit is for??? Also I have an extra plug behind my gauge cluster, do you guys know what it is for???

the othe rplug on the ECu is for automatic ECU..i have a 96 and up a 00 to be exact i dont have 4 plugs i only have 3... dunno if that apply on the 99 00 civics

no its not a tach wire at all.. thats why you can plug an ex cluster into it w/ no problems at all..
