Need Help w/ Hood installation.
OK, first off I know this sounds like a stupid topic but please bear with me.
I've just go my FI carbon fiber hood today. I removed the old hood. I lined up all 4 bolts and tightened them well. The problem comes when I try to shut the hood. The latch appears to be lining up correctly. However when I close the hood it won't push down the main latch. The secondary latch (you know the one you have to undo from the front of the car) is catching. The main latch (the one you release from inside the car) is stopping the hood from shutting completly.
I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem with their install and if so what did you do to fix it. Do you think it would be best just to remove the factory latch and install hood pins, or is their a way to fix this problem. Thanks for any help you can give me.
ps. The car has never been wrecked and it is a brand new hood

This sometimes happens to me, even though I have a stock hood, I think the same thing is happening. What usually fixes it, it going inside the car and pulling the release latch again. That usually allows it to close properly.

you can also loosen the latch assembly and lower it a bit, then retighten it. i had to do that once when my hood started rattling and sitting slightly too high. i don't know if that helps or not..

Thanks for the replies guys so far none of that has really worked. It almost seems to me that there is just not enough weight for the latch to catch. Would it be possible to find a softer spring for the hood latch?
