Default Need help...vtec problems

ok....i have a 92 cx with a 93 z6 with a supposedly chipped p28...my question is, is there any way to check if vtec engages??? i also have a check engine light and i dont know how to check the code or anything..sorry, new to the check engine light ...any info would help...thanks

about the check engine light, u can rent a scan tool or go to the dealer and get it scanned to find out the code...ill pm u later about how to test the vtec unless someone else posts it...

autozone in my area will check codes for you for free. check them out.

unbolt the cat from the header, If vtec works, it will be LLLOOOUUUDDD!!

vtec will not engage if you are getting certain codes. You can check the codes youeself though. Go to the passenger side and pull back the rug a little closest to the door and you should see a green rubber thingie with two connectors going into it. pull the smaller of the two out. it should have two holes at the end of the connector. Get a paperclip and plug it into both ends to complete the circut, turn your ignition to II and the check engine light will blink *Honda morse Code* Short blinks count for 1 and long blinks 10. so long -short- short would be twelve. You can check to see which code it is in a helms or come here and post the code and folks will tell you what it is then go from there. good luck
