Need Help (turns over no start)
Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a 93 Civic Dx d15b7. Its been running good unitl yesterday I drove it to my partents. When I when to leave it wouldnt run. I messed with it all day and fix about three problems but it still will not run (turns over will not start). Knowing that it only takes three things for a motor to run (gas, air and spark) I decide to check each of those. I poped out my spark plug to see if I was getting spark, well no spark. So I when to the dizzy and check cap and rotor (looked fine). Next to the dizzy there are two grey clips (I think they have something to do with the obd system). On the clip with black/yellow and blue I have power going into clip but not coming out from it. Could this cause my car to not start? If so whats the name of the clip so I can buy a new one? If this isnt my problem any ideas. Thanks.

Re: Need Help (xturbovtecx)
did you check your battery? maybe its time to change your battery, or try boosting it...
if it's not your battery, then i think it maybe your alternator / starter motor...
if it helps?

Re: Need Help (drunkn_tyger)
Its not the battery, alt or starter (its been charged and it turns over). My problem is that I dont have any spark. I think its due to the grey clip in photo because power is runining in to clip but not out the other side. If anyone knows if this clip can cause my car not to start or what the clip is called or does that would be very helpfull. Thanks again.

Im not getting spark before plugs, before wires and my cap and rotor are fine. Its like I dont have power to dizzy. So I think that clip has some the dizzy not getting the power. I just need info on the clip. Thanks.

Bump... Need to fix it tuesday, I dont want to buy a new clip if thats not the problem and I dont even know the name of the clip. Someone here has to know something about this clip, I was thinking that the clip has something to do with obd and the dizzy. Some please, please help, I hate electrical problems. Thanks for any help.

well first, take that plug apart and clean both ends, if that dos'nt work then just go to your local autoparts store and ask them what its called, they should be able to help you :D

Man I just this weekend had almost the same problem. The blue wire is for your tach the black and yellow is the 12v to your primary on the coil. Now you said that you are getting voltage in but not out? Not too sure how that's possible here is what you need to check 1). the coil. (disconnet your battery) and do a resistance check from the + to the - it should be .6 to .8 ohms if its not and I learned this the hard way, replace it. Also you have a little grey thing called a Ignition Control Module (ICM) it's got 5 connections and it sits next to the coil if the coil does not fix it this could also be bad, but I would go for the coil A) cheaper B) most likely the ICM cost about 100 and the coil about 60 good luck, OOOOHH!! also a check on the coil go from the + to the output of the coil (the spring) you should have anywhere aroung 15K to 19K this is a pretty accurate reading. What I meant earlier about the .6 to .8, I got .9 and thought it's close enough, must be the ICM got a new ICM still no spark then got new coil crs runs great.....174 bucks later!!! good luck hope this helps.
