need help with tuning
whats up guys im new to the honda scene like my names says anyways i got a 93 civic dx and i pulled the d series out for a poor mans type r u could say its a pr3 head with mild p&p and a stock p72 bottom end running p28 with what i was told was chipped which i doubt because it bounces off the rev limiter at 6k. now i got another stock p28 and it runs fine on that redlines at 7200 would it be ok to keep running the motor on the stock ecu or should i get the other one chipped again which i plan to do my self with crome which brings me to my next ? are the basemaps in crome good for my relatively stock motor thanks guys any help would be appreciated.

Don't rely on basemaps, if you want a real tune to get the most out of your setup while running the engine at safe AFRs get it tuned on a Dyno with a tuning program of your choice(Crome, Hondata, etc).

Just came back from a tuning. They extracted a fair amount of HP even with my setup on stock injectors, but the AFR was in danger zone up top...injectors were working overtime. So they lowered my rev limit to 7000 to save my injectors from me until I upgrade them. So, I'm basically limited to the HP I had before I went in (only it happens 1000K lower than before, which is NICE). But the car feels great. I'll definitely be going back for another tune once I've upgraded the fuel pump and injectors.
If I had gone with a basemap, I'd have fried my injectors. Food for thought.
