so i was racing on the 1.2 mile track that i work at when i feel a slight loss of power, then after the last turn before the straight away i hit it as usual but the acceleration was horrible about at the end of the straight away there was some loud knocking sound so i shut got off it and took 2 cool down laps. i got back and long story short my boss and i established that a rod bearing went out in the number 1 cylinder.

so where should i get a new bearing from and is there anything else you suggest i should do? if you have any other comments or suggestions i would appreciate the help. so much for going to the drag track this weekend

There might be more to it than just throwing in another bearing, but you won't know for certain until you inspect the crank and rod journals.

If possible, I would just replace that one rod bearing set, if you can find a place to sell individual rod bearings...if not, you'll need a whole set and might as well replace them all while you're at it.

Cheaper and easier, try and find a spare Z6 shortblock for a couple hundred....you have one don't you???

ya i have a spare block, but its bare. im trying to do this as cheaply as possiable as im going swapped with boost, and just need to get this engine in good working order so i can sell it, or i could sell it as it is but won't get as much.
