I saw someone on this thread mention drilling and tapping a new hole. In this case a 1/4-28 bolt is the next size up that will fit, it's not metric but I don't think there is room to go 8mm.
I had this happen on my Z6 and the end result was this picture. You don't have to weld the small washer too it, however if you don't there will be no positive stop for the bolt so be careful when tightening.
Heli coils are great too but I always try to go the next size up first wether its metric or standard.
