so i have a 1999 si my my speedo is not working but my tach and everything else works, i herd of something about the film or something not working in the gauge and trying to figure out becuz my v-tech is not cracking n the mechanic said it wouldnt crack until the speedo works can anyone give me any info ?

1. Find any cluster from and EK
2. Install this cluster
3. See if Speedo works
4. If it works you need a new cluster
If it does not work put your old cluster back in and check the wiring

I haven't got any cel codes and I changed the senor unless I hot a bad sensor u think

Ya it works fine turns on when I turn the key over , ill try another speed sensor, thanks for the help

The lack of CEL code 17 is telling you to focus on the cluster and speedometer.

So I checked the closer and new speed sensor but still my Speedo isn't reading anything , all my wires are in tact , , and the only check engine light I got was for my oxygen sensor and one called heater circuit bank , but I can figure y my vtech isn't turning on I'm running an itr with a si ecu does that affect anything

could b that ecu check the wiring to there also

Itd had a different ecu in there made it freak out when it hit 5k rmp, n when I put the so one in it let's it pass it
