Need HELP! Shift linkage issue.
My **** keeps rattling, I don't know wtf it is. It only does it at around 2-3k rpm...here is what happens:
Rev it, hold the RPM in the right spot to hear the rattling. I move my shifter up and down, and the rattling stops and starts. I know it's in my shift linkage/maybe shift lever.
I looked at it, and there is some play on the reverse lever on the tranny end of it. Same thing with the regular shift linkage.
I don't know where the hell this rattling is coming from, it's annoying the expletive out of me, it's not a heat shield or anything.
Thanks in advance for any input

are you sure the shifter is not rattling up the exhuast pipe. i've seen this before w/ebay short shifters. the shifter would sit to low and rattle on the pipe.

first off, there's not a reverse rod.there's the shift rod,and the stabilizer rod.check all the bolts on all that-where the stabilizer bolts to the tranny, where the shift lever bolts to the shift linkage, the bolts that hold the pivot grommet to the stabilizer rod.
also check the grommet that the shift lever rotates in for play, and check the bushing where the stabilizer rod bolts to the tranny for play.if either of those have play, replace them.
also check where the stabilizer rod bolts to the chassis below the shift lever.

Re: Need HELP! Shift linkage issue. (1bad-eg)
My bad TeamGen! Lol... anyway...
I checked underneath the car, it doesn't look like it's rattling against it. Just some play in the (stabalizer) bar I guess. Arghhhhh! It's PMO!
Thanks for the help though guys/girls(?). I'm going to keep trying. I was hoping someone else had this problem before
