Need help, radio and clock went out and nothing now!!! please
i have an aftermarket radio and the trim that goes around her was poping off so while the radio was playing i simply snapped it back on, snap and then bam nothing my jdm clock went out and the radio goes off with it, i was like humm thats wierd so i pop the radio out check the wires there fine and unplug her n replug her in. Nothing, turn the car off and try to press the plastic tab on the clock to turn her on. . . . . nothing also, click the key once and usually the clock n radio goes on but i get nothing. click to the second part when the battery light lights up and the click every so dimly lights up at 1:00 but its simply 8:30pm so the clock reset herself, shes so dim you can barely see it but when i press the tab she lights up a bright amber, when i let go dim again. Anyone have any idea wtf happened, checked the radio fuse n replaced it just incase but i got nothing please help me out thanks Jason

i'm guessing that your clock is sep. form your radio?? i've been sitting here for a good 10 min now thinking about this one??? since it's not your fuse theres only 2 thinngs that it could be and there not going to be easy to find
#1 you have a bad ground somewhere for your radio, like its only making a good contact some of the time, loose, or bolted to a piece of the frame thats painted, and when you pushed the trim back on you made it worse. of course you said that it is on but now dim. and if it was a ground wire it just wouldn't come on at all.
#2 so here we are at nuber two prob. you have a short in whatever wire makes your **** go dim, like when you turn your lights on and everything dims for night time. and this is where i got lost cuz if there is a short in your wiring then your fuses would keep blowing?????
#3 just thought of this#. i would think that there are two power wires going to your clock when both are geting power your clock is bright, when you turn your head lights on it would cut power to one of them making it dimmer, so whenever you pushed that trim on you moved it just enough to jack up a power wire???
not 100% sure just giving you some ideas of what to look for
good luck with that
