Need Help with putting my B16a SiR1 into '92 HB VX
I bought a 92 Civic HB, which had a turboed EX blown motor. I took out the motor with the help of my friends and now I need help putting in the new one. I recently purchased a 88-91 B16A SiR1 Motor from http://www.hmotorsonline.com, which comes with Complete motor and cable tranny(Y1,S1,J1),ecu (PR3,Pwo),axles with half shaft, shift linkage, stock motor mounts, engine harness and all sensors needed. I also purchased a http://www.hasport.com/Products/Moun...unt%20EGB1.htm HaSport EGB1 Mount Kit and cable actuated
clutch to hydraulic actuation conversion. I was told that I might have to lengthen the shift linkage, is this true? Is there anything else I need to purchase before swapping in the new engine in? Thanks

Just get a 94-up integra or 99-00 civic si shift linkage ($60-$100 used) and that will work fine, no cutting needed
That swap is also obd-0 and your car obd-1. So your gonna need to convert the motor to obd-1 to get it to work.

its not a big deal to convert a OBD-0 to a OBD-1, but it require some knowledge and some rewiring....
but its worth it after its all said and done....

Damn dood, you are about to spend four grand on a 160/111 b16. You know the JDM B16a1/2/3 has 170hp/113 tq, and drops right in, no conversions, no solid motor mounts, nuthin and can be had for like 1800 bucks from Osaka right?
For your swap you will need:
1. OBD1 distributor...150
2. OBD1 ECU.....150
3. Hasport mount kit(rough as hell).....500
4. Hasport cable/hydro conversion....225
5. Acura integra shift linkage.....200
6. Timing belt(old *** motor).............60
7. Water pump(old *** motor).........40
8. OBD1 complient injectors........100 used
....add tax to all above......120......
9. COMPLETE b16a changeover................... 1150
10. shipping...........300
11. MISC. PARTS 100
12. AXLES.......200+
TOTAL.........about 3500
Now a b16a II COMPLETE changeover will cost you from 1800 to 2200 plus shipping. LSD is only 300 more, and you will need NOTHING! and add 10 more HP!
ALSO a b18c COMPLETE changeover will cost from 2700 to 3300 plus shipping, and you will need NOTHING.....and add 20 more hp and add some torque!
I'd say cancel your order and rethink this. Learn from others mistakes

alot of that he can still use from his first motor
but yes, he is still going to spend more than the second gen swap.
thats what happens when you try to take the cheap *** way out.

just sell the swap, seriously there will always be somebody that will pick it up, leave it right in the plastic still and advertise that you bought the wrong motor, you'll thank yourself in the end there's alot of bullshit you gotta go through, not to mention taking a step in the wrong direction back to cable clutch, **** that.... it's your car it's your money but it'd be in your benefit to sell the swap, or even see if hmo will return it and give partial credit towards a b16a2
