Hey,

I took my Power Steering System off my 99' SI so I can install my Peakboost Top mount Setup. My Question is I Dont want to do it Wrong. I have search and found Nothing. I see how to loop the system so everything stays lube,But How do I make sure that its got enough fluids in the power steering rack to be good? Should I just top it off with power steering fluid where I loop the hoses?

What i would do is just block off the lines at the rack and then run a line up to your resivior so that the powersteering system is always submerged in fluid. This way you can still check your power steering system for clean fluid and can still flush the system out. Powersteering fluid that has been exposed to heat or that is dirty will rise and this allows you to suction out the resivior and add new fluid. I know this is probably not the best system, but i think its as close as you can get before swithcing to a manual rack. Looping the lines is another option, but not entirely good for the system.

I have mine looped with an added breather/reservoir at the top of the loop. No problems for over 4 years or so. A guy named Padawan here on HT used to sell a kit that included all the lines, fittings, and breather/reservoir. That's the one I'm using. I keep enough fluid to come up to the bottom of the reservoir, and it works great.
