Need help with plans for Si: gt3076r on 25-30 psi, methanol injection, 500-600 hp
My name is robert and im in the military. Ive been looking for an SI forever and finally found one. I just picked up a milano red usdm em1 '99 civic si.
Its an all stock b16a2. 113k original miles very well taken care of. Oil was changed every 3k. New ngk spark plugs and wires. I paid 5k for it. Its never been in an accident or anything. Does have the Usual small chips and blemishes.
My plans for the SI is to do a gt3076r on 25-30 psi and a methanol injection. i want to make my SI 500-600hp. Its my goal.
Now what i need help with is-
What is the best set-up for internals? Management? Basically need all da help i can get. I dont know much but i have a plan.
Any help i can get would be greatly appreciated. Money is not a problem.
Thank you all for taking the time to help me out.
Sincerely,
Rob

You should look at the high horsepower builds here.

that was gonna be my point.
5-600hp on a street driven honda would be nuts. possible yes, but nuts and definately not very affordable.

I know that alot of people are gonna have differing opinions on this, so here is mine.... A stock b16 will disapoint some in the torque dept and some on horsepower as well... Its my opinion that your car with original mileage, stock, never wrecked etc, would be the preferable daily driver... In my opinion if you're shooting for such high hp goals, i would daily the em1... With such a radical transformation considering money isn't the problem, why dont you start with a lower trim civic and use a different engine combination to make it more reasonable to reach your goals... Lets face it, you'll probably begin your modifications on the b16 block but will probably eventually switch it out for something else anyway... I would suggest a b18 block with b16 head or something more radical, but for love of great stock hondas, I'll ask you nicely to spare this one... If you really want to use the em1 then I would at least suggest dropping the more radical motor and keeping or selling the stock b16...
I know alot of people probably don't care so much, but In my opinion hondas cars from 2000 forward are far too big, too heavy, and other things that I don't want to go into now... So it is my opinion to save as many of the good cars as possible... Even if you choose to not care so much about saving your share of great honda parts, then I think you will at least agree after some research (if you havent done so already) that you will probably outgrow that block considering your hp goals... Consider a b18, b20, or k-series swap!

Which is the better turbo for what? It's not like trying to figure out which shoes go with your shirt. Garrett is just a name. They make MANY different turbos for MANY different applications. You state you have a goal but don't tell anyone what that goal is. How is anyone POSSIBLY supposed to help you? Is it the same "goal" as in your first post? AT least list what turbos you HAVE researched and what setup you plan on running. 500-600 and methanol injection doesn't tell anyone anything. Just sounds like you saw it on someone else's build and thought it would be cool. Do you actually think 500-600hp is actually streeatable? Where did you get this magic horsepower number from? You said it was not going to be your daily but you and a friend are tooling around the street in it? It doesn't look like you've done any real research in the past six months.
Perhaps you want to read up in the Forced Induction forums FAQ section.
And what do you mean the motor wasn't what you thought it was?
Your post is full of vagueness.
