Need help making a decision on a engine.
I got a 2d 95 civic with a d16az6 engine. im looking to up it to a B series, but i was wondering if the d series i have will be decent enough if i just rebuild it and replace the cam shaft and shave the heads?? im lookin for a good bit of power but nothing huge, any ideas?

If you look around, you can pick up a complete B18a/b swap for your ride for the same price as what it'll cost to build up your d-series.

I would turbocharge the D-series engine you have, with a medium sized turbo and low boost. It's easier than doing a swap IMO, and it's definitely less expensive. Just make sure to get a tune... it shouldn't cost too much because i'd assume the tuner should be able to tune it quickly since it would be on such low boost and only making 150WHP.
If you swap in a B series you're not going to make 150WHP unless you swap something like a GSR (and even then you won't have 150WHP), which would cost more than to turbo it.
