need help with ls swap into 92 eg hatch
Hey honda tech's I have a couple of questions before i start buying this swap.
eg is an obd1 if i get a 90 to 93 ls out of a da that is obd1. can i using the wiring harness thats already in it or no and was wondering what would be the best ecu to use i'm planning on boosting. And will the shift linkage line up and everything. Thanks you guys

no you cant use the da wiring harness.... just use the eg harness..... you will have to change the injectors or cut the plugs off the da harness and wire them in ..... and the shift linkage will not work ..... you will need a linkage from a 94-95 dc and that will take care of that.... you can also use dc mounts.... you will also have to change out the driver side mount bracket from the da b18 with a driver side mount bracket from a dc... due to the offset of the engine bays....also you can use stock axles from a dc... they will fit in the eg.....any other questions just ask.... also you will need to get the map sensor out of the da and wire it into the eg and hook up the vacuum line to throttle body ....

Re: need help with ls swap into 92 eg hatch
if i were you i would go with a p75 or a p28. i have a p28 that im using on my ls and my car is built for boost. oh and a 90-93 tranny will work on a 90-93 ls motor. and it will fit in the car with ease, you can use any b series tranny for your swap.

Wow! Guys thanks for the help. Ya i'm ordering a b18 off of tigerjapanese. it comes with Complete Motor,Complete Head,Intake Manifold, Distributor,Power Steering,Exhaust,Alternator Throttle Body,Fuel Rail,Injectors, and All Sensors. I'm going to use a 90-91 cable ls tranny with a Exedy HF01 billet flywheel, and a stage 2 clutch. If there both obd1 i can use the wiring harness that is in the eg correct? can i use the engine harness too or i have to use the one for the b18? and about the mounts can i just buy b series mount for a 92 to 95 civic?

HMMM> you can read my answer to clarify what they wrote, hella tired to read, but i want to help you.
The da harness will NOT WORK. 2-3 plugs at towers are crossed.
Use an eg harness, preferably a non vtec one so you don't have that extra wire.
if its from a 92-93 da, The EG harness Will snap onto everything, the injectors are questionable, but im like 99.9% sure it'll snap on too, if not you can just cut it off the da harness.
chipped p75 is the cheapest one and the one that'll give you everything you need. with a chipped p28, you'll have the vtec function as an extra, your paying extra for nothing...
You need a hydro b series tranny, with the hydro b series shift linkage, and the from a 94-01 integra(If you didnt get the intermediate shaft, then you need that too from the 94-01 integra, but if you got it, the 92-93 one should work, not sure about the 90-91)
Mounts from a 94-01 integra.
It'll be way easier and cheaper and less time consuming if you bought it from a 94-95 integra. or any 94-01 integra. Unless your getting that swap for like 200-300 bucks with all the extras.

please note that you cannot use a 89-93 tranny this is a cable tranny and requires a kit to work in a eg.what every says is not always true!stay away from 93 and older trannys,go on a site called carpart.com thats without a s at the end and type in the part details you want and search you see its well worth it to go with a newer 01 ls tranny can find for a couple hundred.200 on average for a old 90 ls tranny and 400 for a 11 year newer probably 130000 miles less tranny

Re: need help with ls swap into 92 eg hatch
I had a ls eg and when it died I went with a b20z from that site what a difference my advice is,if your buying these parts from somewhere go with a b20z over a ls same price much newer cleaner and stronger engine.remember a ls comes from a 18-30 old driven sports car mostly race and a b20 from a auto wife driven family small suv ur chances are that the ls is leaking been red lined 10000 times and the b20 probably hasnt even seen 5grand

Re: need help with ls swap into 92 eg hatch
You will need:
92-01 Engine. Better off getting 94-01 so It will include the harness you need
94-01 transmission. Any b-series will work in those years
94-01 mounts/brackets. ls/gs/rs or gsr Integra will be easiest to get
94-01 wiring harness. Integra ls/gs/rs
92-01 throttle cable and bracket. Integra ls/gs/rs
94-01axles with intermediate shaft. Any b-series
92-95 obd1 ECU. Integra ls/gs/rs
94-01 shift linkage. any Integra one
I've been doing a ton of searching to get my LS swap ready and this is pretty much everything.

Maybe I missed something, but why are you so insistent on using DA parts?
Ya Digg's post seems correct. Don't listen to the people saying a cable tranny is fine for your car, as this requires an extra kit to work and is not worth the trouble.

Re: need help with ls swap into 92 eg hatch
Honestly whether or not the engine is OBD1 or 2 doesn't really matter in the case of a 5th gen civic, if it happens to be a '96 - '01 engine then just make sure you use an a '96 - '01 integra engine harness, '96 - '99 harness is preferably as you have to run a wire for the tach signal if you use an '00 - '01 harness (you will obviously still need to use an OBD1 ECU though). I just don't see the point in bothering with B18A1 stuff, unless you happened to get a '92 - '93 DA for next to nothing. The '90 - '91 versions are OBD0 btw.
