Default Need Help Identifying a Caliper (4 Pics) No other Forum can tell me...

No other Honda forum has been much help. I need to know what year(s), model(s), and whether it is ABS or not on this caliper. Brakes are not my forte'.

A: 1809 Bendix 5 ac2

B: 32 116 70 Bendix
C: 1841L
D: 60C4

And if those don't work:

I called a Honda Dealer with part numbers but they were of no help. Apparently the numbers on the caliper are manufacturing numbers, not part numbers. And if it helps, it was advertised as a "95 lx or dx Civic Caliper, non-ABS" I'm skeptical.

Thanks, Mak

it's def not a 95 LX or DX caliper. it looks like a ex/si caliper to me. the cx/lx/dx caliper doesn't have that brace between the 2 ends of the caliper

looks more like rear calipers, due to the banjo fitting on the brake line. Not sure from what though

try to mount it on your car and see if fit cause gsr brake will not fit on your stock mount.

Rear calipers screw in.. you know, have to use that special tool. These ones you can use a C-clamp to move it in, so I'd say it's safe to say it's the fronts.

it's looks like a cx, dx, vx, hx...(9 inch rotor type) caliper. It's front for sure.

the reason why I think it's of a 9 inch set up is because one of the sliding pins doesn't have a bolt going thru it. As far as I remember 10 inch set ups have 2 bolts going thru it.

tell us all numbers written on the caliper. Funny, the caliper hangas is not curved. Its obviously a front caliper, and the brake pad is odd. This doesnt seem to look like any Civic caliper. More info please!

Its NOT a rear caliper, because there is no place for the e-brake cable to attach. All Honda rear calipers do that.

Plus, whether it was on a ABS equiped car or not, ABS is NOT dependant on the caliper, it has a module and the speed sensor reads from the grooves of the CV axle. This caliper will mount a ABS equipped car, or a non-ABS car.

ABS is sort of dependent on the caliper - abs calipers have larger pistons than non-abs calipers.
The fact that its larger than the 2" ex/si piston says it SHOULD be abs...but the overall size is too small elsewhere.

yo Diesel, yea those calipers should say Nissin, cause thats who made the caliper. Whoever bendix is, i dont know. I cant say they arent Honda calipers, although they really dont look like it, but I can say those aren't 92-95 calipers thats for sure. The non-abs calipers have a number "2056" and the ABS cars have calipers with the numner "5410." Those are the only 95 civic calipers, and the integra uses a caliper with the "5410" as well i believe. Either way, those were falsly advertized.

I decided to email the guy who sold them to me to try and find some answers. If he isn't helpful I'll try junkyards to get a positive ID and if nothing else works I'll sneek them in as cores for a REAL set of '95 Dx's.
