leaky headgasket? its a possibility
more than likely tho its either a faulty thermostat. i went through 4 thermostats til i got one that worked decent. or you could have a big air bubble trapped in the system.
Try and blead the coolant system. remove the radiator cap when the car is cold. start the car and put the heat on full blast. and fill up the coolant til it stops bubbling. make sure the engine is warm when its stopped bubbling. also pop your valve colver and check and see if the oil looks different.
Sounds like its time to upgrade that radiator. or if you are strapped for cash u could try thes to suggestions. cost under $5 to do both.
One trick you could do i see you live in maryland and it stays decently warm out there. you could take your thermo stat out. and drill 2 or 3 1/16" holes in the thermostat and that will keep it at a real cool temperature. or you could wire up a manual fan switch
