if i was you, i'd find a buddy with a 96-00 civic with factory spoiler, who doesn't mind you taking it off so you can make a template for where to drill the holes. a drill does a lot of damage to paint and metal, so be 100% sure you know where you want it before you ever fire up the drill.

layout exactly where the holes are going to be, set the spoiler in place, make sure it looks good to you, mark where the holes are to be, then drill. take your time, thats probably the best advice i can give you. or try and find a template. one comes with any new spoiler you buy from honda. maybe one of those dealership guys could let you use one and bring it back??

Put the spoiler wing brackets together. Carefully tighten all the bolts that hold the spoiler to the brackets.
4
Mark the holes on the outside of the trunk where you intend to install the spoiler. Make sure you have the spoiler pointing in the right direction.
5
Drill holes through the top sheet metal of the trunk and the metal underside. Start with a smaller hole than necessary. drill larger holes until you have a large enough hole for the bolts to pass through.
6
Paint the inside of the holes with touch-up paint to keep rust from forming.

Attach the spoiler to the trunk with the help of a friend. Be sure to put the washers in place before your tighten the bolts. The spoiler should not be loose. Make sure all the bolts have equal pressure on them.
