need help getting off door panels

Default need help getting off door panels

i cant figure out how to get off the passenger and driver side door panels, the window crank is in the way... can someone simply explain how to get off the panels, it would be greatly appreciated. btw, its a 92 vx hatch, thanx

may be a dumb question but have you removed the plastic levers for the window cranks?

THere is probably screws that you have to unscrew for the doorhandle and then you probably have to angle the handle just right to get it out. As for the panel, there are probably a bunch of pain in the *** clips that are hard to reach that you need to pop out. I say "probably" because that's how my 97 is. Could be more difficult though.

i dont know what plastic levers your talking about... i can get everthing off except the window crank.

the levers for the window cranks are held on by some retaining clips, if you turn the levers so that they are facing down you can pop off the clip with a flathead screwdriver

where are these retaining clips? and how do i know the levers are facing down? i hope i dont sound stupid... this is my first civic to own, and ive never taken off door panels that had non-power windows...

If you turn the handle facing up and bend it back a little you could see the clip that is holding it in place.It should be a gold clip I think.Just use a small flathead and try to take it out.Or if you have those hook screw drivers it would be a lot easier.

its those little white lines under the handle, its one piece, thats the clip that needs to come out.

my uncle made me a tool with a paper clip to get the clip off

its basically a paper clip with a folded 90 degree hook

i use it to find out what code im throwing when my damned CEL comes on.
