Need help with getting my transaxle apart from the bellhousing
I have a 94 honda civic LX. I have pulled the tranny to replace the clutch . When i drained the lube out i noticed a very large amount of metal fillings in my fluid. So i decided to open up the tranny and see what i could see. The problem i've run into now is that the stupid thing will not separate completely . I have about a 1/2 inch of space all the way around but something inside is keeping them from coming apart. if anyone knows the secret please clue me in or in you know where i can get tech breakdown of internal parts or something.

Where is this bolt? I have the whole assembly out of the car already just can't get the tranny apart from the bellhousing itself.

did you remove the 32mm sealing bolt? (its the metal plug at the end of the transmission) screw that off, and you will see a snap ring for the countershaft, use snap ring pliers separate them , and then tap the transmission with a rubber hammer and it will separate...
see that gold (dirty) circle thingy in the middle of the picture,, that the 32mm sealiing bolt, the snap ring is inside..
let me know if you run into this same problem when you put everthing back together. ill show you two possible tricks to fix that too...

Remove the 30mm plug, then use snap ring pliers to release the countershaft locking ring.........
