I knew a guy that had a stock ITR muffler, but in the middle of his piping he had some weird valve installed that he could open, and then the car would be basically open header. I am pretty sure it wasn't custom built, and I don't remember how exactly he would activate it, but I think I saw one again at a recent HT meet and I'm curious. Where can I find one? What are the benefits/drawbacks? Any pics?

you ar talking about a E cutout or Exhaust cutout.... search for that and you should find what you want such as where to buy onenad how much tey cost and if you really need one or not....
