I have a 98 Lx stock and Its idles around 500 and sometimes goes dead. I just checked what code it was throwing and its the IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve. where is this located and how hard of a fix is it.

the iacv is located right behind the IM. it has a 2 wire harness going to the bottom of it and a water line on the bottom also. you may just want to take it off and clean it.

its has 2 or 3 12mm bolts i believe.

It's on the back of the intake manifold. Remove it and clean it, this may solve the problem, also check out the plugs to make sure that they are in tact. Beyond that you may need to replace it. It's a very simple fix, anyone who can operate a wrench should be able to remove and inspect it.

try going to honda and have them fix it. when i threw a code for my o2 sensor they said it had an extended warranty on the o2 senors and they replaced it for free. try this first before u fix it yourself and waste money.

If you unhooked the air fuel gauge and the code went away then that means you had it hooked up wrong.
